PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Ivy League released its list of student-athletes selected for 2013-14 Academic All-Ivy honors in its spring sports today. The 80 men and women were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages. Each institution nominated five men and women from its eligible student-athletes.
This year's Columbia honorees include:
Paige Cuscovitch, Sr., Lacrosse, Neuroscience & Behavior (Longmeadow, Mass.)
All-Ivy honorable mention; totaled career-high 33 points on 29 goals and four assists; fourth on the all-time goals list with 108.
Marvellous Iheukwumere, Sr., Track & Field, Psychology (Austin, Texas)
Ivy League Champion in the 200m dash at the Outdoor Championships; NCAA East Regional Qualifier in 200m dash.
Ashok Narayana, Jr., Tennis, History and Economics (Houston)
Selected to CoSIDA Capital One All-District I first team; first-team All-Ivy in doubles, second-team All-Ivy in singles.
Waverly Neer, Jr., Track & Field, Anthropology (Russiaville, Ind.)
Second-team All-American in 5,000m run; set program record in the 5,000m run at Stanford Invite; second-team All-Ivy in 5,000m run.
Bianca Sanon, Sr., Tennis, English (Plantation, Fla.)
First-team All-Ivy doubles team; second-team All-Ivy singles; went 12-3 during dual meet season.
Anders Smedsrud, Sr., Lightweight Rowing, History (Oslo, Norway)
Won gold medal at IRA National Championships in the varsity four race; victorious with second varsity eight at EARC Sprints.
Emily Snodgrass, Sr., Softball, Creative Writing (Canby, Ore.)
All-Ivy honorable mention; hit team-best .341 with nine doubles and 17 RBI; her 171 hits are the third-most in Columbia history.
David Speer, Sr., Baseball, Economics-Political Science (Westport, Conn.)
Unanimous selection for Ivy League Pitcher of the Year and first-team All-Ivy; went 7-2 with 1.86 ERA and 75 K's; ABCA All-Northeast Region second team; drafted by Cleveland Indians.
Robb Paller, So., Baseball, Psychology (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
All-Ivy second team; named to NCAA Coral Gables All-Region Team; hit .296 with three homers and team-high 35 RBI.
Bert Vancura, Jr., Tennis, Biological Sciences (New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
Posted 15-4 singles record during the spring; Helped team win Ivy League title and competed at NCAA Team Championships in No. 5 singles slot.
