NEW YORK – The Columbia lightweight rowing squad will head to the Schuykill River on Saturday, April 13 to take on Penn and Yale for the annual running of the Dodge Cup.

The Dodge Cup was named after the late Marcellus Hartley Dodge, a member of the Columbia Class of 1903 and a former coxswain for the Lions.

Overall, this is the 54th Dodge Cup race between these three schools. Yale has won nine straight, including a wire-to-wire victory over the Columbia in 2012.

Columbia picked up a pair of victories last weekend, topping Navy on the Severn River in Annapolis, Md. in the morning before trekking back to Ridgefield Park, N.J. to best Delaware on Overpeck Lake in the afternoon.

Last Saturday, the Quakers fell to defending national champions, Harvard, and Cornell for the Matthews-Leonard Cup, but returned to the water in the afternoon and swept Mercyhurst on the Schuylkill River.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 2 in the nation, swept Georgetown and MIT on the Housatonic River to retain the Joy Cup for the 34th consecutive year.

The Penn boathouse is located at #11 Kelly Drive (also known as Boathouse Row).  The finish line is located 1.5 miles west of Boathouse Row on Kelly Drive.
