NEW YORK - Columbia junior Samantha Warren was chosen for the USRowing Women's Under-23 National Team Camp, it was announced today. Warren is one of only 23 women nationwide to be invited to the camp.

"Sam's improvement this season has been exceptional," head coach Scott Ramsey said. "She has bought in completely to the training program here, attacked her weak points with a vengeance and turned them into strengths.

"Sam has rowed on the international level before with the Junior National Team and attended the U23 Pre Elite Camp last summer," Ramsey explained. "U23 National Team Camp is the next challenge for her, and she has the physical, technical, and mental tools to be competitive there this summer."

The Women’s U23 National Team Camp will select the Open Women’s 8+ and 4x to compete at the U23 World Championships in Trakai, Lithuania, July 11-15.  The camp will also select, if competitive, Open Women’s 4-, 2-, and 2x to compete at U23 Trials in Mercer, NJ, June 24-27. The camp will start between May 29 and June 1 at Syracuse University in upstate New York.

The Columbia women's crew is back on the water this Saturday, April 7 in the Class of 1975 Cup with Princeton, Radcliffe and Cornell in Princeton, N.J.
