NEW YORK - On Saturday, April 7, Columbia's women's rowing team will take on Princeton, Radcliffe and Cornell in a preview of half of the Ivy League Championship race that will take place later this spring.

The Ivy League Championship race in May will replace the traditional EAWRC Championships this season and in future years. In 2013, the race winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. In 2012, it will merely serve to crown an Ivy League champion.

Saturday's race will be a good litmus test for Columbia, rowing against Princeton, ranked sixth in the latest Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll. Radcliffe is ranked 11th and Cornell 16th. Columbia is among the schools receiving votes in the latest poll.
