NEW YORK – Senior Samantha Warren was named a first team All-American by the CRCA after helping the Columbia women’s rowing team to one of the finest seasons the program has seen.

Warren, who has been a fixture in the Lions’ varsity eight throughout her career, competed in the No. 6 seat in eight regattas this season. Her strong presence in the lineup helped Columbia to five victories, a ranking as high as No. 15 in the CRCA/USRowing Polls, a Woodbury Cup triumph and a second place finish at the EARWC Sprints.

The Sacramento, Calif. native garnered second team All-America status last year and was selected to the CRCA All-Mid Atlantic Regional Team for the third time in her career in May.

Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
