PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Columbia women’s rowing team claimed a thrilling victory in the varsity eights race, edging out No. 10 Brown by just 0.9 seconds and Cornell by 5.5. However, the Bears captured the Dunn Bowl winning the best of three series of NCAA events.

In the final race of the morning, the Lions and Brown were side-by-side for nearly the entire race with Columbia coming out on top by the narrowest of margins.

The Lions second varsity eight placed third, pulling in 8.4 seconds behind the Bears and 7.2 from the Big Red.

Columbia is back in action on Sunday, May 5 when they compete at the Women's Sprints Regatta on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J.
