NEW YORK – The Columbia women’s rowing team will compete against Northeastern in the 10th running of the Woodbury Cup on Saturday, April 12 in Boston.
SETTING THE SCENE
Last year at Overpeck Park, the Lions’ varsity eight broke the race open in the middle 1000 meters and came across the line in 6:28.9, topping the Huskies by nearly 13 seconds. Columbia has won the race four times, Northeastern has claimed the trophy on five occasions.
The Lions come into this weekend’s race battle-tested after facing No. 3 Virginia and No. 8 Princeton last weekend on Lake Carnegie. Columbia placed third between the squads on April 5, but will look to get back on track against the Huskies.
Northeastern University women's rowing team earned a split with Penn and Syracuse in the Orange Challenge Cup on Saturday morning on the Charles River.
