NEW YORK - Junior Samantha Warren gained a place on the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) All-America second team, it was announced on Tuesday. It is the first All-America honor in Warren's career. She is the first Columbian to be named All-American since Meredith Mead '11CC in 2009.

In May, Warren earned first team CRCA all-region honors for the second time in her career after being selected to the first team in 2010. A stalwart in Columbia's first varsity boat during her first three years, Warren was chosen to compete at USRowing's Women's Under-23 National Team Camp this summer.

Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.

Columbia was ranked as high as 16th in the CRCA coaches poll during the 2012 season. It was the highest rank ever for the program.
