Scouting the Bears
Brown is one of several teams in the middle of the pack in the Ivy League, and one that will challenge the Lions for every point in this dual meet. The Bears are 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the Ivy League, with losses to Harvard, Penn, and Dartmouth. At the 2010 Ivy League championships, Brown came in seventh overall, but the Bears handed Columbia a dual meet loss during the regular season. Last year, Brown beat Columbia, 168-138 in a meet held at a neutral site pool in Dartmouth, Mass.

Leading the Lions Last Time Out
Columbia suffered a tough loss last weekend to Ivy rival Cornell, as the Big Red won the dual meet matchup in Ithaca, N.Y., 164-136. Despite the team loss, Columbia had several strong individual performances, especially from the senior class. Co-captain Adam Powell won both sprint free events, taking the top spot in both the 50 and 100 free, breaking a Cornell pool record in the process. Senior Hyun Lee also brought the Lions major points, as he won three different events: the 200, 500 and 1000 free. Junior Johnny Bailey had a win in the 100 back, while sophomore Patrick Dougherty won the 200 back.
