NEW YORK-The Columbia men's swimming and diving team picked up its second straight road victory with a win over Bucknell. The Lions defeated the Bison 129.5 - 111.5, improving to 3-1 on the season. A strong team effort fueled Columbia, achieving first place finishes in six events from five different swimmers and one diver.

Sophomore Harry Stephenson took a first place finish in the men's 1000 yard freestyle to begin the day, with a time of 9:41.40. First-year Stephen Raynes placed second with a time of 9:43.82 and newcomer Dominik Koll took third with a time of 9:51.97.

Columbia's next first place finish of the meet would come in the men's 50 yard freestyle by first-year Stanley Wong with a tying time of 20.99 with fellow  teammate Alex Ngan. The Lions took the top three again in the meet with first-year Daniel Gosek placing third with a time of 21.22 in the event.

A first place victory in the men's 200 yard butterfly by first-year David Jakl with a time of 1:50.01 continued to spark the Lions. Ngan would follow with a win in the men's 100 yard freestyle with a time of 46.67. Koll took a first place victory in his first meet as Lion in the men's 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:35.65.

First-year Micah Rembrandt showed well for the Lions, taking a second place finish in the men's 1mtr diving event with 258.15 points. Rembrandt would give Columbia its sixth victory of the meet with a win in the men's 3mtr diving event with 271.85 points.


Columbia will return home Saturday, Jan. 21 as they host Ivy league foe Cornell at 3 p.m.
