After grabbing two straight victories, including a thriller over Yale and a defeat of Army, Columbia fell at home to a tough Harvard team at home in its last outing. The Crimson won 10 of 16 events and set three Uris Pool records to defeat the Lions 170-130, as they drop to 2-2 on the season.

Despite the loss, David Jakl went on to set a Uris Pool record of his own in the 100 fly. With a winning time of 48.41, the junior remained unbeaten in the event through Ivy League dual meet competition. On his 20th birthday, Jakl beat his previous pool record of 48.50 set by the west coast swimmer last season.
