Meili Earns Second All-America Honor In the 100 Breast
INDIANAPOLIS - The second of day action at the 2013 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships began today at the Indiana University Natatorium. The preliminary sessions started competition at 11 a.m. and Alena Kluge returned to swim in the 400 IM, while Katie Meili competed in the 100 breaststroke.
For the second straight season, Meili earns All-America honors with her performance in the 100 breast. The two-time Ivy League champion claimed a third place finish in the prelims with a time of 58.87. She went on to hold that third place mark in the championship finals hitting the wall in a time of 59.14.
Meili will cap here final season tomorrow in the final day of competition at the NCAA Championships. The senior is set to race in the 200 breaststroke where she holds a 15th-place seed time of 2:09.41.
Kluge also hit the pool in the 400 IM as the Ivy League’s sole representation in the event. The All-Ivy League honoree finished with a time of 4:18.84 for 43rd place respectively.
