Scouting the Quakers
Penn is coming off of a first place finish at the Total Performance Invitational. Penn has started the season well, notching wins over Connecticut and Cornell, sitting at 2-1 overall this year. The Quakers’ lone loss came to league powerhouse Princeton in November.
Columbia holds the recent advantage, in the head to head matchup however. Last year, the Lions won 11 of the meet’s 16 events, beating the Quakers 173-127. In fact, Penn hasn’t beat Columbia in a dual meet since 2006.
Last Time Out
The Lions had a big win at home in early December, as Columbia downed local rival Wagner, 158-112. The Lions took first in 10 of the 14 events.
After a winter training trip, Columbia women’s swimming and diving will return to the pool Sunday, January 16, as they host a dual meet with the men against Bucknell. The meet, taking place in Uris Pool, is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
NEW YORK – The Columbia women’s swimming & diving team will end the 2010 calendar year away from home, as the Lions will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Ivy League rival Penn, Friday, December 10 at 4 p.m.
