NEW YORK – The Columbia women’s swimming & diving team spent April 18 celebrating the 2010-11 season, and looking toward the future of the program, with two team events.

In the morning, the women hosted potential future teammates, with the first annual Junior Day. The team had the chance to reflect on the season, and share their thoughts with interested high schoolers.

And in the evening, the team gathered to celebrate in style, with the annual banquet. Columbia women’s swimming & diving had one of the most exciting ends to their season in recent memory, as the Lions came from behind at Ivies to finish third overall, tying the program’s best finish ever. All 17 members of the Ivy League championship squad recorded a lifetime best swim in the effort, a feat nearly unheard of in college swimming.

"Columbia women’s swimming & diving celebrated a season of exciting achievement," head coach Diana Caskey said. "Earlier in the day, the best part of Junior Day was the excitement provided by the team members speaking about the program and their experiences."

The team also presented its annual awards, which are listed below.
