NEW YORK - The Columbia women's swimming and diving team will open the 2012-13 dual meet season at Robert J.H. Kiphuth Exhibition Pool in New Haven, Conn. when they take on Ivy League opponent Yale on Friday, Nov. 9. The meet will begin Friday afternoon with the diving competition at 4 p.m., followed by the swimming heats at 5 p.m.

The Lions will look to repeat last year's exciting season opening win against the Bulldogs which came down to the last relay. In a meet that saw two pool records broken, Columbia grabbed a 161.5-138.5 home win igniting a spark to an historical season.

This year's squad returns five All-Ivy League honorees, including the 2012 Ivy League Most Outstanding Swimmer senior Katie Meili. The Lions are poised for another monumental season with the return of stellar upperclassmen leadership and the addition of 11 talented first-years.
