Busy Weekend Ahead For Women's Swimming & Diving

NEW YORK - The Columbia women's swimming and diving team will wrap-up the 2013 calendar year with a busy upcoming weekend of competition. A number of Lions will join the nation's biggest names in the sport at the 2013 AT&T US Winter National Championships from Thursday, Dec. 5 - Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn. The field hosts a number of the top swimmers in the country, highlighted by olympic gold medalists Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky.

The meet features 18 events including five relays (200 Free, 400 Medley, 200 Medley, 400 Free) and 13 individual events. Preliminaries will start at 9 a.m. ET, Thursday through Saturday, followed by the finals heats at 5 p.m.

A number of Columbia swimmers will remain local this weekend to compete in the 2013 ECAC Pre-Season Championships uptown in the Bronx at Lehman College.The ECAC Championships will run from Friday, Dec. 6 – Sunday Dec. 8 at the Lehman College Apex Center. The meet hosts a field of 17 represented women’s teams and will begin each day with 10 a.m. preliminary sessions, followed by finals sessions at 6 p.m.
