NEW YORK - The Columbia men and women's track & field teams will begin its indoor season run of meets in New York City with a pair of events this week. From Thursday, Jan. 24 - Friday, Jan. 25 they will compete in the NYC Metropolitan Championships to be held at The Armory. The Lions will also compete in NYRR's College Night at The Armory on Friday, Jan. 25.
The NYC Metropolitan Champions will begin Thursday, Jan. 24 with a small group of Columbia athletes competing in the men and women's weight throw and the women's pole vault events. The weight throw starts the day at 11 a.m., followed by the pole vault at 12 p.m. at Manhattan College Draddy Gymnasium.The meet will resume on Friday in The Armory at 12 p.m. for the remaining events. After the conclusion of the Metropolitan Championships, Columbia will gear up for competition in the New York Road Runners College Night at the Armory with events starting at 7 p.m. This meet hosts 15 schools including Maryland, Army, and Ivy League schools Cornell, Princeton and Penn.
