NEW YORK - The Columbia men and women's track & field teams will head to The Armory for the second straight weekend on Friday, as the Lions compete in one of the most prestigious meets of the indoor season. Columbia will put its talents against some the nation's best at The Armory Collegiate Invitational from Friday, Feb. 1 - Saturday, Feb.2
In its 12th year, the Armory Collegiate Invitational stands as one of the premier collegiate indoor meets across the country. The field will have over 100 teams represented, in addition to standouts in colleges from Ireland, Puerto Rico, France and Canada.
The women's side will feature entries from 12 teams currently ranked in the USTFCCA NCAA Division I top 25 poll, including No. 1 Clemson, No. 2 Kansas, No. 3 Oregon, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 5 LSU, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 7 Florida, No. 10 Iowa State, No. 14 Texas, No. 15 Dartmouth, No. 16 Stanford and No. 25 Connecticut.
The men's side will have entries from 10 of the top 25, including No. 1 Arkansas, No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Oregon, No. 6 LSU, No. 11 Texas, No. 15 Mississippi State, No. 19 BYU, No. 20 Stanford and No. 22 Oklahoma.
General admission for each day of competition is $20 for adults, $10 for students and $30 for reserved tickets. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at ARMORYTRACK.COM or at the door on the day of the event.
The women's 3k run at 9:30 a.m. will kick-off the Invitational on Friday and the final event of the day is the men's distance medley relay at 8:28 p.m. Saturday starts at 8:30 a.m. with the women's 5k run and concludes with the men's 4x400m relay championship at 5:43 p.m.
