GREENSBORO, N.C. - On the final day of action at the 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships East Preliminary Round on Saturday, Columbia added three more distance runners to the NCAA Championships trip to Eugene, Ore. With Harrison McFann and Mike Murphy already qualifying for the 2013 NCAA Championships in the previous two days, Waverly Neer, Daniel Everett and Mark Feigen have now punched their tickets to this year’s ultimate competition.

Neer competed in the women’s 5,000m where the top five finishers of two heats advance, along with the next best two times. Although the sophomore clocked in with a solid sixth-place time of 16:05.70 in the opening heat, her time stood 11th overall to push her to the championship round.

On the men’s side, Everett and Feigen put together strong performances in the 5,000m run. Both lined up in heat two of the event and Everett led the Lions with a fourth place automatic qualifying finish with a time of 14:07.43. Just behind him, grabbing the final automatic bid, was teammate Feigen who finishes fifth with a time of 14:08.70. From June 5 – 8 these Columbia runners will represent the Lions at the 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.
