Track & Field Completes Day Two of NCAA Regionals
NEW YORK – The Columbia track & field team had a rough second day at the 2011 NCAA East Regionals, as none of the four athletes competing were able to advance to the next round of competition.
In the 400m dash, junior Sharay Hale struggled with an injury that kept her from running in top form. The Indoor All-American finished the event in 54.07, 16th overall. Junior Kyra Caldwell also struggled in the 400m hurdles, placing 22nd overall with a time of 1:01.31.
Columbia has three events remaining in the weekend, as athletes will be taking part in the men’s and women’s 5000m run, and the women’s 4x400m relay.
