Men's Squash Wraps Consolations Of CSA Individual Nationals
PHILADELPHIA - The represented Columbia men's team participants in the 2014 College Squash Association Individual National Championships capped the tournament with a few consolation bracket appearances over the competition weekend of Friday, Feb. 28 – Sunday, March 2. Despite being ousted in the main draws, Jonathan Gill put together a good win in the Molloy Division, Daniel Saleem reached the quarterfinals in the Molloy Division, while Rishi Tandon reached semi-finals in the Pool Division.
On Friday, Gill posted a victory in the Molloy first round consolation bracket over Fordham’s Kincade Webster, 11-7, 11-7, 11-9. After a forfeit in the opening round of the second round consolation finals of the Molloy Divison, Salemem faced-off against eventual consolation winner Affeeq Ismail in the quarterfinals.
Tandon received the same draw in the second round consolation bracket of the Pool Divison, after a forfeit by Princeton’s Tyler Osbourne propelled him to a semi-finals match with eventual bracket champion Ryosei Kobayashi.
