NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Columbia women's squash team will enter the 2013-14 campaign ranked 11th, as announced in the Dunlop Women’s College Squash Association preseason poll on Wednesday, Nov. 6
The Lions continued to take big strides on the national stage after finishing the 2012-13 season ranked 11th with a third place win in the Kurtz Cup (B Division) at the 2013 College Squash Association National Team Championships. Columbia improved from a 13th place finish the previous year following a win in the consolation final of the 2012 Kurtz Cup (B Division).
Columbia returns 10 student-athletes from the 2012-13 squad, including standouts Reyna Pacheco who competed in the Holleran Cup (B Division) at the 2012 CSA Individual National Championships. The Lions will also welcome four talented newcomers.
The first action for Columbia this season will be a home match against No. 14 George Washington on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m.
