PRINCETON, N.J. - There were a lot of emotions for the Columbia women's squash team heading into its match against Princeton on Friday, November 19.  Not only was it the 2010-11 season-opener, but it was the first varsity match in the program's history.  The Lions got thrown right into the mix, squaring off against #4 Princeton, their only Ivy League match of the season.  The team ultimately fell 0-9 to the Tigers, but battled hard in each of their matches.

Despite falling 3-0 to Jackie Moss, first-year Katie Quan battled hard at #2 in her first collegiate match. Quan nearly stole the second game from Moss, but ultimately fell 11-8. Her classmate, Monica Stone, almost forced a fourth game, but Elizabeth Eyre held on for an 11-9 win in the third game to take the match.

Columbia (0-1) returns to action on Saturday, November 20 when it travels to Washington, D.C. to take on George Washington and Georgetown at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
