The 16th ranked Columbia women's squash team will hit the road for a competitive weekend taking on three top 20 teams. The Lions will begin Saturday, Jan. 14 at 11th ranked Brown, to open conference play, at 3 p.m. On Sunday, Jan. 15 the team will travel to New Haven, Conn. to face 19th ranked Bowdoin at 9 a.m and 2nd ranked Yale at 11:30 a.m. in another conference matchup.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Brown will enter their match with Columbia winning their last three matches. The Bears open the season with a 7-2 loss to 10th ranked Bates. With wins over #23 Connecticut College, #13 Mount Holyoke, and #20 Wesleyan, the 11th ranked Brown is 3-1 on the year.
SCOUTING THE POLAR BEARS
19th ranked Bowdoin will face Columbia in its fifth match in three days. The Polar Bears have posted wins over #23 Connecticut College and #24 Vassar College. Bowdin is lead by first-year Alden Drake who has wins in the no. 3 and 4 positions against top 20 competitors in #14 George Washington and #20 Williams.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Defending Ivy League and Howe Cup Champions Yale have started the season much like last season. The Bulldogs will enter their weekend of play at 3-0 with wins over #15 Amherst, #17 Franklin and Marshall, and Haverford. 2nd ranked Yale returns 2011 Ivy League Rookie of the Year honoree Camilla Tomlinson.
The Lions will continue on the road to Amherst, Mass. to compete in the Pioneer Valley Invitational Friday, Jan. 20 - Sunday, Jan. 22.
