The Lions will aim to get back on track this weekend after dropping two of three at Dartmouth and a midweek contest against Monmouth Wednesday. Columbia will complete a seven-game road swing after its series with the Bears.

The Bears avoided a sweep against Princeton with a 12-0 victory over the Tigers Sunday afternoon. Brown also hosted Rhode Island Tuesday, falling to the Rams by a score of 11-5.

Columbia holds a 62-61-1 record against the Bears. The Lions have won 10-straight in the series, four by shutout, dating back to 2013. Last season, Columbia earned 3-31 and 9-5 decisions in Providence.

Junior Chandler Bengtson became the third straight Columbia player to earn Ivy League Player of the Week honors after registering a 1.863 OPS with six runs, three homers and nine RBI against St. John's and Dartmouth. The first baseman had a monster final two games against Dartmouth Sunday, belting a solo homer in the opener before unloading two more bombs in the series finale to help the Lions avoid a sweep. Both homers were three-run shots for his third career five-plus RBI performance. Bengtson is now riding a 27-game on-base streak and is now tied for eighth on Columbia’s career list with 18 home runs, one shy of tying Alex Ferrera ’11CC for seventh place.
