Norries Wilson, the Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football, is giving periodic updates on preseason camp. Check back daily to catch the latest report!

They are back and practicing.

34 rookies reported to camp; 21 of 34 passed their first conditioning test, which means they took the summer seriously. Unfortunately, one young man was unable to report due to a medical issue. We hope to have him as soon as we can.

There was plenty of energy, all of it good. We jumped on them right away about the little things, towing the line, and accountability to each other.
Without alerting them, I changed the running test this morning, just to see who would be affected psychologically. (You can practice all week in the bright sunshine and get to game day and it’s a downpour, you have to be able to adapt to what is thrown at you.) They handled it well.

There were fewer of the first day mistakes and guys that have played a lot of ball the last two years stepped in and did what was expected without having to be told repeatedly.

David Stone, Executive Vice President for Communications, stopped by practice and stayed about an hour. We were glad to have him.
