For Zimmerman, it is the second consecutive month she has received the honor. In six games, she averaged 21.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals to help the Lions go 5-1 in December. Zimmerman was tabbed as Ivy League Player of the Week twice (Dec. 12 and Dec. 19) and reached 1,000 career points in a win over LIU Brooklyn. In addition, the Ivy League leader in scoring (20.5) and double-doubles (6), helped the Lions post the program's first win over a BIG EAST squad against Providence on Dec. 7.
Smith led the team in scoring, averaging 15.0 points, shooting 56.6 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from beyond the arc. Against the defending BIG EAST Champions Seton Hall, he registered a career-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting. The rookie point guard closed the month with 12 points and five assists at Miami on Dec. 28 and netted 21 points and five helpers against UAlbany on Dec. 30.
