SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Columbia men’s basketball senior Maodo Lo has been selected as one of the 20 watch list finalists for the 2016 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award, presented by College of the Holy Cross.
Lo is coming off a tremendous junior campaign where he averaged an Ivy League best 18.4 points and shot 43.1 percent from 3-point range. He was unanimously named first team all-conference and picked up All-Metropolitan and NABC All-Region honors.
He comes into 2015-16 just nine 3-pointers shy of breaking the program’s all-time record, is seventh with 104 steals in just three seasons and ranks 16th in career points with 1,165.
This past summer, Lo represented Germany at the 2015 University Games and EuroBasket, in his hometown of Berlin.
By mid-February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2016 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award will be narrowed to just 10. In March, five finalists will be presented to Mr. Cousy and the Hall of Fame’s selection committee. The winner of the 2016 Bob Cousy Award will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show live from Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, Apr. 8, 2016.
