Columbia Athletics celebrates its relationship with New York City by offering unique and memorable Fan Experience opportunities and showcasing talented area youth.

Already during the 2016-17 Columbia Basketball season, Columbia Athletics has featured the skills of many area youth teams in halftime basketball scrimmages, including the Cathedral School from Morningside Heights, the Greenwich Village Girls Basketball League, Mo’ Motion from Harlem, and Saint Gabriel School from the Bronx.

There is no shortage of incredible youth performing groups #OnlyHere in New York City. Columbia Athletics has had the privilege of featuring many of these local groups this basketball season, including NYC Dance Arts, the Harlem Prep Middle School Dragons Pride Step Team, and the Pioneer Football League Cheerleaders.

Fans will be treated to more performances at upcoming Columbia Basketball games. St. Peter the Apostle Choir from River Edge, NJ will sing the national anthem at the women’s game vs. Cornell on January 21. Scrimmaging at halftime of the men’s game vs. Yale on February 3 is the Safe Haven Basketball League, dedicated to give local children a safe, supervised recreational activity during the winter months.

Columbia Athletics is also excited to announce the return of the Marching Cobras! The Cobras, featured at Super Bowl 48 and the Academy Award winning film Birdman, will perform at the men’s game vs. Brown on February 4 and the women’s game vs. Yale on March 4.
