NEW YORK—Columbia Athletics hosted its annual Fireside Chat with basketball coaches Jim Engles and Megan Griffith Wednesday evening at the Arts & Crafts Beer Parlor in Morningside Heights. The event gave fans full access to both coaches before both Lions teams begin Ivy League play this weekend at Princeton (Friday) and Penn (Saturday).

After Columbia Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Peter Pilling began the evening with a quick welcome and introduction, Columbia basketball play-by-play voice Lance Medow hosted a Q&A with Engles and Griffith which featured anonymous questions from the audience.

Tickets were $25 apiece which included two premium drinks, hor d’oeuvres, a gourmet s’mores station and Roaree’s Roaring adult hot coco.

Both teams open Ivy League play at Princeton Friday night. Tipoff for the women’s game is at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 8 p.m. Both games can be viewed on the Ivy League Digital Network, while the men’s game will also be televised on NBCSN Philly.
