2017 graduate of the International School of Americas in San Antonio, TX… competed in Cross Country and Track with a 17:42 personal record in the 5K and 4:57 personal record in the mile… 2016 All-Academic First-Team Honors for Absolute Fencing.


Born Julian Aurelio Maldonado on August 3rd, 1999 in San Antonio, TX… Son of Nina Perales and Javier Maldonado ‘90CC…Mother went to Columbia Law School after completing her undergraduate at Brown University…Older Brother Javier Maldonado is a junior at Yale University…Younger sister Pilar Maldonado, 12, also fences…Has dual citizenship in the US and Mexico…After watching Columbia win back-to-back NCAA Championships, he made his decision to come fence at Columbia…Volunteer assistant coach for young fencers at Alamo Fencing Academy…Camp counselor at Camp Pasquaney in New Hampshire in Summer 2017…Best friend Samuel Davis plays football at Trinity…Enrolled in Columbia College with a major in biology…Hopes to go on to Medical School.
