Vierheller, a sophomore epee fencer, posted a 28-2 record in three tournaments during the month, including a 20-1 mark at events at St. John’s and Penn which featured the nation’s top competition. Her performance guided the Lions to a 14-3 team record in January. She currently holds the highest power ranking in NCAA in women’s epee (win percentage + quality of opponent).
Pham helped Columbia to an unbeaten 4-0 record and No. 16 team ranking. His 5-1 record at No. 1 singles boosted the Lions to a victory at the ITA Kick-Off, advancing the Lions to the National Indoor Championship. Pham defeated ranked a pair of ranked opponents, No. 25 Emil Reinberg (Georgia) 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 at the MLK Invitational and topped No. 32 Gustav Hansson (Ole Miss) 6-4, 6-0.
