A 2010 Columbia graduate, Daria Schneider begins her fourth year on staff at her alma mater. After spending the last three years as an assistant fencing coach, Schneider was named Director of Fencing Operations in 2013-14.
Schneider made the U.S. senior national team during her senior year, finished 15th at World Championships and was ranked 13th in the world earlier this summer. She coached part time at Riverdale Country School in the Bronx for the past five years.
In the summer of 2012, Schneider was chosen to represent USA Fencing athletes on the Board of Directors of the USA Fencing Athlete Council.
One of the best women's sabre fencers in the rich history of Columbia Fencing, Schneider won the NCAA Championship in women's sabre in 2007 and twice was a first-team All-American.
After taking a year off to train for a spot on the 2008 United States Olympic team, Schneider won bronze at the 2009 NCAA Championships as a junior, posting a record of 19-4 during her run.
For her career, Schneider finished with an overall record of 158 wins and just 28 losses. She was a two-time co-captain, a three-time first team All-Ivy League selection and a three-time Academic All-Ivy Leaguer.
