Fall 2012: Won the doubles flight 'A'
draw and reached the flight 'D' finals at the Columbia Invitational
(9/14-16/12) ... Reached the doubles semifinals and singles flight 'B' round of
16 at the Cissie Leary Inviational (9/21-23/12) ... Reached the quarterfinals of
singles flight 'F' and semifinals of doubles flight '1' at the NTC BJK Women's
Collegiate Invitational (10/6-8/12) ... Advanced to the doubles finals at the ITA
Northeast Regionals (10/29-23/12) ... With doubles partner Bianca Sanon, knocked
off No. 9 Tan/Tsay from Stanford at the ITA/USTA Indoor Intercollegiate
Championships (11/9/12).
Spring 2012:
Finished the season with a 10-6 record, playing primarily as the No. 6 ... Earned
a pair of three-set victories over Cornell's Sara Perelman and Dartmouth's Jeri
Reichel at the ECAC Team Tournament (2/17-19/12) ... Posted three consecutive
road wins against Memphis' Kelly Gray (3/3/12), FIU's Nina Djordjevic (3/18/12)
and William & Mary's Sydney Smith (3/23/12) ... Defeated Cornell's Courtney
Malinchak in straight sets (3/31/12) ... Rallied past Brown's Sarah Kandath for a
three-set win (4/15/12) ... Topped Penn's Emma Whitfield in season finale, 6-1,
6-2 (4/22/12) ... Partnered with Bianca Sanon to win 13 doubles matches,
including first eight matches of the year ... Won the Flight 'A' doubles title at
the Cornell Winter Invitational ... Notched doubles wins over Ivy League foes
Yale, Brown and Princeton.
Fall 2011: Participated in the William & Mary Invitational, the Cissie Leary Invitational and the Columbia Invitational.
Spring 2011: Went 9-9 overall in singles and 1-6 in Ivy League matches, playing in the Nos. 3-6 spots … Went 6-3 in doubles with Chelsea Davis and 3-2 with Bianca Sanon, including a 2-2 Ivy League record … Clinched Columbia’s 4-3 win over Cornell at ECAC tournament, winning in the No.5 spot over Sarah O’Neil, 7-5, 6-7, 7-6(4) … Had non-league wins in singles over St. John’s, Stony Brook, Maryland, Temple, Colorado State and Long Island … Had league wins over Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn.
Fall 2010: Participated in the Cissie Leary Invitational, notching a first round win in the B singles draw over Zeynep Mada of Drexel … Advanced to the semifinals of the F singles draw at the USTA National Tennis Center Invitational, beating a player from Fairfield and upsetting the No.4 seed from Boston College … Also participated in the ITA Northeast Regionals.
At California Academy of Math & Science: Four-time letter winner in tennis … Team captain her senior year … Four-time Daily Breeze All-Area honoree for tennis … Three-time Press Telegram All-Area honoree for tennis … Went undefeated in the league her freshman year playing #1 singles … Member of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 team championship squad her freshman season.
Personal: Psychology major ... Daughter of Janis Uchida and Stephen Takenaga … Father, Stephen, was a gymnast at UCLA.
