Former Columbia softball standout Maggie Johnson '11CC will return to
the Columbia sidelines this season as a volunteer assistant coach,
announced in September by head coach Kayla Noonan.
"Maggie is no stranger to success at Columbia
Softball Stadium or in the Ivy League," Noonan said. We can't wait to have her
competitiveness, knowledge and passion for softball back in our dugout."
Johnson was a three-time All-Ivy League selection at Columbia,
finishing her career as a first team utility player as a senior. Johnson
clouted 18 home runs in her career to set a school record and tied for
first in career runs batted in (82).
She ranks second all-time in doubles (37), slugging percentage (.455)
and ninth in career batting average (.281). As good as she was with the
bat, she was as strong in the circle. Johnson ranks second all-time in
appearances, third in victories, innings pitched and strikeouts.
