NEW YORK - The 16th ranked Columbia women's squash team will
look to get their first Ivy League win as they host top ranked Harvard on
Friday, Feb 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Street Squash. Columbia will also welcome Ivy
League opponent Dartmouth for a noon match at Street Squash on Sunday, Feb. 5. The
Lions currently stand at 5-6 overall on the season and 0-3 in Ivy League. This
marks the first meeting between these programs as #16 Columbia looks to take
down league leading #1 Harvard and #8 Dartmouth.
Last Time Out
The Lions finished a four match home weekend at 2-2 as they
improve to 5-6 on the season. Columbia picked up 9-0 wins to sweep Georgetown
on Friday, Jan. 27 and Connecticut College on Saturday, Jan. 28. However, the
team suffered losses to Middlebury College, 3-6 on Saturday, Jan. 28 and
Williams, 1-8 on Sunday, Jan. 29.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Top ranked Harvard will enter the match following an 8-1 win
over #5 Trinity on Jan. 21 in Hartford, Conn. The Crimson, at 10-0 and 3-0 in the
Ivy League, currently hold the No. 1 ranking and stand atop the conference.
SCOUTING THE BIG
GREEN
No. 8 Dartmouth currently posts a 3-4 overall record this
season and stands at 0-3 in the Ivy League. Dartmouth's most recent outing
resulted in a 0-9 loss to fifth-ranked Trinity. The Big Green will enter the
match looking for an Ivy League win following a match facing the Big Red of
Cornell.
