NEW YORK – The Columbia archery team headed to Queens to take part in the New York State Indoor Championships, Saturday, February 18, and the competition saw seven season bests and two personal bests for the Lions.
Two seniors led the way for Columbia, as Sydney Shaefer won the Collegiate Compound Unlimited with a season-best 560, while senior Anna Harrington won the Olympic recurve division with a season-best score of 545. Shaefer just barely edged out teammate Mary Quien, who fired a 550, while first-year Gladys Velez-Caicedo shot 532, a career best in only her third collegiate meet.
Up next for the Lions is the Pennsylvania State Championships, Saturday, March 3 in Reading, Pa.
