NEW YORK -The Columbia women's lacrosse team will play its final home game of the 2012 season when it hosts Harvard on Saturday, April 21 at 12 p.m. Prior to the game Columbia will honor its Class of 2012: Karlee Blank, Taylor Gattinella, Amanda Goodhart, and Jenny Schiff at Robert K. INSIDE THE SERIES

The Crimson leads the all-time series 12-2, dating back to the first meeting in 1998. In last season's match-up the Lions lost a tough battle in Cambridge, Mass. Despite leading by three with 23 minutes to play, a nine-goal second half run by the Crimson propelled Harvard to a 15-9 win over Columbia.

Kacie Johnson posted a team-high four goals and an assist, Paige Cuscovitch and Gabrielle Geronimos each added a pair of goals, and Taylor Gattinella's tallied three draw controls.  Karlee Blank had 10 saves in goal to anchor the Lion defense.

LAST TIME OUT

First-year Katie Angulo posted her first career hat trick, but a six-goal halftime deficit was too much to overcome as the Lions team fell to New Hampshire, 14-8 at home on Wednesday, April 18 .

Despite a 9-3 halftime deficit, Columbia refused to quit and used a 9-2 advantage in draw controls during the second half to match New Hampshire, 5-5. Columbia struck first with two goals by first-year Kaitlin Brophy in the first six minutes of play. Cuscovitch added two goals and an assist and Junior Kacie Johnson went for  two points on a score and an assist. Columbia dropped to 2-11, 0-6 in the Ivy League.

IVY LEAGUE STATISTICS

Columbia currently leads the Ivy League in groundballs with 239 on the year.  The Lions rank second in caused turnovers with a season best 102. Senior Amanda Goodhart, who ranks ninth in the country, has a league leading 26 caused turnovers for a game average of 2.00.

First-year goalkeeper Skylar Dabbar continues to stand amongst the league's best has tallying a league leading 107 total saves for an average of 8.23 per game. Dabbar improves to a .382 save percentage and has held opponents to a .389 shooting percentage on free position shots this year.

Johnson remains atop the Ivy League with 70 total points in 13 games.  Behind league leading numbers in assists with 30 and goals with 40, Johnson continues to have a stellar year.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS

With 179 career points, Johnson surpassed Marisa Marcellino's mark of 164 set in 2008, to become second all-time. The junior moved to third all-time in goals scored with 107 and becomes only the fifth player to reach the 100 goal mark. The team assists leader has 69 career assists and stands second all-time, moving past Columbia standout Holly Glynn's '09CC mark of 52.

Johnson tallied eight goals and seven assists in two games for the Lions and was named Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, April 16. The award is the second of the year for Johnson, as she was named Offensive Player of the Week on March 5, and the third of her career.

She tallied four goals and five assists, for a season-high nine points, in Columbia's 19-11 win over Lafayette on Wednesday, April 11. The junior midfielder set a program single-season record in points in the victory, with 62, surpassing the mark of 59 she set in 2011. She also set a single-season mark in assists, with 27.

On Saturday, February 25, Gattinella became Columbia's all-time leader in draw controls breaking the mark of 112 set by Carrie Anderer in 2006. A month later, Gattinella set the Ivy League all-time record for draw controls at Dartmouth on Saturday, March 24. She surpassed the century old mark of 141 set by Cornell's Jaimee Reynolds (1999-02) and continues to add to her total this season tallying a league record 159 career draw controls this season.

After grabbing three draw controls in the game against Yale, Gattinella set a Columbia season record for draw controls with 40 on the year and has current total of 47. She surpassed the mark of 39 set by Carrie Anderer ('06CC) in 2004.

Gattinella also ranks second all-time for Columbia in career groundballs with 116. With three groundballs against Lafayette she surpassed Antoinette Allen '00CC at 114.

Goodhart has caused a career total 74 turnovers. She currently places second all-time, surpassing the 69 caused turnovers by Brynn Wumbrand '01CC. She is only the second player in Columbia history to reach the 70 mark along with Kate Lombard '07CC. Lombard owns the all-time record with 80.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON

Harvard enters Saturday's game having won three straight, including wins over league opponents Brown and No. 20 Princeton. The Crimsons 10-7 win over Princeton, brings them to 7-6, 3-2 in the Ivy League. Melanie Baskind leads the team with 28 points and Danielle Tetrault joins with 27 points, including a team-high 23 goals.
