NEW YORK - Three incoming first-years will join the Columbia archery team for the 2012-13 season. The group includes two recurve shooters and a compound archer.

"I'm extremely excited about this new class," head coach Derek Davis said. "They will bring consistency and depth to the roster. We continue to grow and evolve as a team and these young women represent the future of Columbia Archery."

Julie Hoffman is a native of Montville, N.J. and was a member of the 2011 United States national compound team and was ranked as high as third in the nation. Hoffman took home first place at the Junior Olympic Archery Development National Indoor Regional Championships in February 2012 and gained the top prize two days later at the U.S. Indoor Championships Regional.

Tiffany Kim, who hails from Saratoga, Calif., joins her sister Grace on the Columbia squad. Tiffany is a recurve shooter who has competed in national competitions up and down the west coast. Her top showing was a third place finish at the U.S. National Indoor Championships as a 15-year old. Kim recently graduated from the Junior Dream Team, an elite training program designed to mentor future Olympic archers.

Jennifer Zhu comes to Columbia from Lafayette, Colo. as a recurve specialist. Ranked as high as 21st in Outdoor Nationals in the female recurve cadet division, Zhu has been a member of the Colorado Elite Recurve team for three years. Zhu also was a Colorado Junior Olympic state champion in the female recurve cadet division.
