NEW YORK - The Columbia men's golf team used the opening
weekend of the 2012-13 season to participate in a pair of community service
activities.
On Saturday, Sept. 8 the Lions hosted Army for a dual event
at the Tuxedo Club in a Patriot Golf Day event. Patriot Golf Day is the
flagship fundraiser for the Folds of Honor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that provides educational scholarships for the children and
spouses of military men and women disabled or killed while serving our great
nation.
Columbia's men's golf team made a $70 donation to the Fold
of Honor Foundation.
On Sunday, the team held a clinic for children of the City
Park Junior Golf program. Following the clinic, the entire team played nine
holes with the kids.
Columbia will be back on the golf course this weekend in
Farmingdale, N.Y. to compete in The McLaughlin at Bethpage Red.
