NEW YORK - The Columbia women's soccer team continues its
five-match homestand this weekend, playing host to Fordham and Marist. The
Lions will do battle with the Rams Friday at 7 p.m. and then take to the pitch
against the Red Foxes Sunday at 1 p.m.
Columbia played a pair of matches at the Columbia Soccer
Stadium last weekend, defeating Sacred Heart (2-0), but falling to St. John's
in overtime (2-1). Beverly Leon and Coleen Rizzo netted goals in the Lions'
victory over Sacred Heart, while Tori Goode provided Columbia's tally in the
game against St. John's.
Leon earned a spot on the Ivy League weekly Honor Roll with
her goal, as well as assisting on Goode's score.
Fordham comes into Friday's matchup carrying a 2-4 mark. The
Rams opened the season with losses at Michigan and Michigan State before
defeating Manhattan Aug. 24. Most
recently on Sept. 9, Fordham went on the road and defeated ACC opponent
Maryland 1-0.
