FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Columbia men's golf team wrapped up
play at the first round of The McLaughlin hosted by St. John's Saturday. The
Lions sit in 14th place after the first 18 holes of action.
Competing at the Bethpage State Park Red Course, the Lions
posted a combined score of 294, trailing Marquette, Temple and Princeton by one
stroke. Auburn controls the early lead, posting a score of 279.
Ford Fischer carded the top score for Columbia, shooting a two-over
72 to stand in a tie for 19th. Jordan Lee needed just one more stroke during
his first round to finish with a 73, tied for 31st.
Harrison Shih, Michael Yiu and Andrew Kim rounded out
Columbia's line-up, recording 74, 75 and 76, respectively.
Play was halted in the second round due to darkness at
Bethpage. Play will resume Sunday morning with the completion of the second
round prior to the third and final round.
