BEDLETTER, Ky. – The Columbia women’s golf team wrapped up
play Tuesday at the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational, taking fourth place.
Michelle Piyapattra finished the tournament tied for seventh overall, while
Monique Ishikawa tied for 17th.
The Lions entered the final round in fifth place, but were
able to move up to fourth with consistent play across the entire lineup.
Piyapattra carded a 78 Tuesday to secure her first top-10 finish of the season.
Ishikawa and Jane Dong each posted scores of 79 for the final round to finish
tied for 17th and 23rd, respectively.
Lilette Mocio also finished the tournament tied for 23rd,
after registering an 82 for the final round. Elizabeth Combs made it five Lions
in the top-25, shooting and 80 to close out the tournament and finish in sole
possession of 25th.
The four student-athletes representing Columbia and
competing at the St. John’s Women’s Intercollegiate also wrapped up play
Tuesday. Joanna Henry finished tied for 10th after carding a two-round score of
156.
Spenser Krut played her way to a 27th-place finish, while
Ashley Zambito and Maria Lu finished 41st and 47th, respectively.
Columbia will continue fall competition Sept. 28-30 when it
travels to State College, Pa. to compete in the Nittany Lion Invitational.
