STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Columbia women's golf team wrapped up day one of the Nittany Lion Invitational tied for fourth with Minnesota and College of Charleston. The host Penn State leads the tournament, with Old Dominion and Harvard following in second and third, respectively.

Columbia's Joanna Henry posted a personal best round of one-under 71 and stands alone in second place after the first 18 holes. Elizabeth Combs also broke the top-20, sitting in a tie for 19th after shooting a plus-four 76. 

"Our two sophomores are helping lead the way for us," said head coach Kari Williams after the round. "As a team, today was one of the best rounds we've had at Penn State."

Monique Ishikawa opened the tournament with a 78 and will start the second round tied for 43rd. Michelle Piyapattra carded a 79 through the first round and is in a tie for 50th heading into Saturday. Jane Dong rounded out the top-five for Columbia, shooting an 80 to stand tied for 59th.
