DOUBLES UPDATE Narayana and Schnur will open doubles action in the main draw tonight (Thursday, Oct. 4) against the second-seeded duo of Shaun Bernstein and Evan King. That match will be among the last group of doubles matches that are slated to start at approximately 8 p.m. eastern.
NEW YORK - Three Columbia of men's tennis players will be in
action in Tulsa, Okla. this week at the 2012 ITA Men's All-American
Championship. Ashok Narayana and Winston Lin will begin play Monday, Oct. 1 in
the singles qualifying draw, while Narayana and doubles partner Max Schnur will
begin competition in the main draw Oct. 4.
Narayana opened the fall season with four singles wins to
capture the Cordish draw at the Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational. Lin reached
the finals of that tournament in the Tiger draw, topping No. 38 Vasko Mladenov
from St. John's in the semifinals. The following weekend, Lin won a pair of
matches at the NTC Invitational.
Narayna and Schnur opened the year with a first round win at
the Princeton Invitational over Wake Forest's Jonathan Ho and Danny Kreyman,
but lost their second round match. At the NTC Invitational, the duo dropped its
tournament-opener to Mladenov and Hugo Morth from St. John's.
The University of Tulsa will host the 2012 ITA All-American
Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Updates regarding all the
