PRINCETON, N.J. - Columbia women's soccer player Grace
Redmon has been selected as the Ivy League Player of the Week, as announced by
the conference office Monday.
Redmon notched her second Ivy League shutout of the season
Saturday, blanking the Brown Bears. Brown, who came into the match 6-2,
challenged Redmon with eight shots on net, but the Columbia keeper stopped them
all.
Columbia is unbeaten in Ivy League action this season, with
Redmon making 12 total saves against Cornell and Brown, shutting both teams
out. On the years, Redmon has five shutouts and 49 saves to go with a 0.99
goals-against average.
Freshman defender Elly McGuffog was also recognized by the
Ivy League, receiving a selection to the Honor Roll this week. McGuffog played
the entire 90 minutes at Brown Saturday and was a key component to a strong
defensive unit in front of Redmon.
