Men's Reults|Women's Results

BRONX, N.Y. - The Columbia women's cross country team extended their run as the winner of the Metropolitan Championships on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. This marked the 15th straight year the Columbia women took the 5k title. The Lions totaled 18 team points to win by an overwhelming 48-point margin and featured nine runners in the top 20.

Senior Mallory Anderson led the team with an individual title time of 18:14.99. Not far behind in second place was junior Caroline Williams (18:23.22) and first-year Leila Mantilla(18:25.82) came in third place. Columbia placed six runners in the top 10 including juniors Sarah Eagan(fifth, 18:43.52), Chelsea Carrick (seventh, 19:03.37), and  Molly Dengler (eighth, 19:06.20).

The Columbia men took third place in the 8k Metropolitan Championships showcasing some young talent. Sophomore Nate Brennand led the Lions with a second-place showing, clocking a time of 26:50.12. First-year Jon Harper (13th, 26:51.97), first-year Ben Deal (16th, 26:58.08), senior Paul Snyder (19th 27:11.16), and sophomore Noah Chodos (20th, 27:13.91) had strong races to give Columbia five finishers in the top 20.

The Lions will be back in action on Friday, October 12, as they head to the University of Wisconsin Adidas Invitational.
