REGIONAL DRAWS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - On day two of the ITA Northeast Regional
Championships, the Columbia men's tennis team captured a pair of victories in
both singles and doubles.
In singles action, Bert Vancura and Eric Rubin each notched
straight-set wins in the opening round of the main draw. Rubin defeated Hugo
Morth from St. John's, 6-4, 6-1, while Vancura topped Binghamton's Florian Van
Kann, 6-3, 6-0.
In doubles, Rubin paired with Dragos Ignat to take down
Marsit's Bishop and Klassen, 8-5. Vancura picked up his second win of the day
as he and doubles partner Winston Lin eased past Colgate's Bekowitz and Jewitt,
8-2.
Play continues Saturday in New Haven, Conn.
