GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Columbia women's golf team is in eighth
place following the first round of play at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted
by Furman.
Joanna Henry leads the way for the Lions following the first
18 holes. Henry shot an opening round 78 and will enter play Saturday in a tie
for 27th.
A trio of Columbia student-athletes, Michelle Piyapattra,
Jane Dong and Monique Ishikawa each finished the first round tied for 35th
after carding 79s Friday.
Lisa Combs opened the tournament with an 18-hole score
of 86 and enters the final two rounds tied for 70th. Combs will be among the
first group to tee off round two at 9 a.m. Saturday.
