NEW YORK - The Columbia volleyball team will wrap up the
2012 season on its home court this weekend with a pair of Ivy League matches
vs. Penn and Princeton.
Riding a three-match winning streak, Columbia (12-9, 7-5 Ivy
League) will take on Penn on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. match
against Princeton on Saturday for Senior Night.

On Saturday, the Columbia volleyball team will honor its
three seniors, Megan Gaughn, Heather Braunagel and Kelsey Musselman, who have
each been a member of the team for all four years.
Gaughn recorded her second match of 20-plus kills in as many
weeks with 20 against Harvard last weekend. She now sits 16 kills away tying
the all-time career kills record of 1,256, set by Amalia Viti from 2005-08.
Earlier this season, Gaughn became the first Columbia volleyball player to join
the 1,000 kill, 1,000 dig club.
Braunagel currently ranks fifth all-time for Columbia with
198 career blocks. She is leading the Lions and ranks second in the Ivy League this
season with 1.17 blocks/set.
One of Columbia's top setters, Musselman ranks third for the
Lions this year with 5.33 assists/set and averages a career total of 6.64

Penn dominates the Ivy League defensively, boasting the
nation's leader in digs, Dani Shepherd, who is averaging 6.57 per set, and the
league's top blocker, Susan Stuecheli, who is averaging 1.26 blocks/set. Ronnie
Bither leads the Quakers with 7.72 assists/set, while Emma White leads the
offense with 2.83 kills/set.
Offensively, Lydia Rudnick leads the Quakers and Ivy League
with 4.24 kills/set, while Ginny Willis is the league's top setter posting
10.73 assists/set. On the defensive end, Sarah Daschbach averages a team-best
4.25 digs/set, and Nicole Kinade is posting 1.05 blocks/set.

Friday night is Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night. Columbia
and Barnard Faculty and Staff who attend the match will receive a Columbia volleyball t-shirt. The first 300 fans will receive sunglasses!
